Sep 30, 2015 at 16:05 comment added Andy @ArtOfCode, the "asking" part you mention is us posting to the suggested sites with our proposed ad. If it gets upvoted, they accept it. If it doesn't, they don't like it. As an example (and because Google returned Academia first), this is how such a page looks: meta.academia.stackexchange.com/questions/1478/… . If an add reaches a score of 6 it enters that site's rotation.
